flickr

Interesting place to visit. I liked the fact that I could download pictures that other people have taken and look at them and incorporate them in an article. Way cool.

MOLDI (in summary)

I am sure that this is a very useful tool, considering all of ipod users today. But, I would rather have the book. I really enjoy holding my books and finding a comfortable spot to read them. I hope our customers will at least give this a try. At the very least, I will be able to recomend this to some of our customers, who listen to audio books.

MOLDI

Seems pretty easy. They have it set up for you to use your very own Columbus Metropolitan Library Card, how great is that. Then you just download and install the free software. You can browse the titles or look for specific titles or authors.

CML Power Tools-

I like not searching for certain e-mails, you don't need to make folders just star and label your emails and then do a search as a regular google search. Highlighting is another tool that I like. Why use anything else when you have CML Power Tools.

On Line productivity

What a great idea for us and our customers. I think I might start recommending docs.google.com to our customers. The word document is great. These will follower our customers whereever they go....home, office, library. As long as the customer is signed up for gmail. (another free resource)

And the Winner is......

I took a tour of Craigslist. My daughter and her family will be moving to Arizona and they found the home they will be living in through Craigslist. Pretty neat site for someone who is relocating or looking for jobs in areas that they are thinking about moving to.

PBWiki

Libraries are using pbwiki to create intranet, public websites and to create special events. They even have a full time librarian to help answer your library related questions. So....instead of taking months to create a website, if you know what you want and how to do it, you can create a collaborative website in about "60 seconds". This will not only save time, but $$$$$.

Web 2.0

I read about Web 2.0 and how the libraries will use this technology for blogs and photo sharing for online communications, with our customers.

Delicious.com

Tried Delicious.com today and was able to bookmark all of my favorite sites. After I figure out how this site works, I enjoyed the ease in which everything is located in one spot for me.

I signed up for twitter.com and posted my first tweet. Fun. I don't think that I will be a person to use this very much. But we will see.

Library Blogs

Just crusing the different library blog sites and came across the one "up North". The Ann Arbor District Library. They offer a link called Brainfuse. This is an online," live tutor" to help with homework. I thought this was pretty cool.

To Buy a Cell Phone or pass

Don't really want a cell phone.....but I see they can come in handy. I just don't want the phone to own me. The phone rings at home and I need to check the messages right away. Don't want the cell phone attached to my ear. Another thing, who can see those little numbers? Or, am I just afraid of the technology?
